ELIGIBILITY

 

Open to all Photographers. Wall space only due to our venue space. If accepted,
artwork must be delivered in person to Nazareth Center for the Arts (NCA). Only original work is
eligible. All photography mediums allowed, including digital and analog photography, historical
photography processes, and alternative processes (e.g. solargraphy, cyanotype, lumen prints).
From the submissions, NCA will select approximately 30 pieces that fit together cohesively and
fit the theme of inspiration from our homes, communities, and local neighborhoods.

 

REQUIREMENTS

● Each artist may submit up to 3 original works for consideration.
○ Submissions must be made digitally through the Google form.

○ Size unframed dimensions- stated as w x h x d
○ 1-2 sentences about your artwork. Describe your process, message, inspiration,
or how the artwork expresses the theme.

○ Image files should be 1-3MB, clear, straight, and cropped to the edge of the
artwork. Photo files must be named as follows: Artist Name_Artwork Title

● Two-Dimensional Works:
○ All pieces must be securely wired and braced for hanging
○ No hooks or Command Strips accepted
○ No ill-prepared work will be accepted
● Size criteria:
○ Width 40” Maximum, including frame

● Label the back of each piece with your name and the title of the piece
● Fees: There is a non-refundable fee of $10 per work accepted, payable at delivery.
○ The $10 fee will be waived if the Artist donates the piece (or another piece) for
NCA’s annual fundraiser auction
● Number of Entries: Up to 3 entries per artist.
● Volunteer Requirement: The Nazareth Center for the Arts is a volunteer-run
organization. Each accepted artist may be required to be present in the Gallery 1 (one)
day during the duration of the exhibit during gallery hours (Gallery hours are 12-3pm
Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Artists are encouraged to use this time to educate,
demonstrate, and speak to gallery visitors and use the opportunity for self promotion.

JURORS

 

The exhibit will be juried for entry and monetary prizes by the co-creators of the
Nazareth Area Photography Club. A Winner and Runner-up will be selected from all eligible
pieces on exhibit. Winners will be announced at the Opening Reception on May 2nd.
● Juror: Kristopher Sebring is a Nazareth-based artist and photographer specializing in
lensless photography and alternative processes. He has exhibited his work both locally
and internationally. Kris is a volunteer and board member of Nazareth Center for the
Arts.
● Juror: Ashlee Deutsch is an art educator and professional photographer. She holds a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kutztown University with a concentration in
photography, Ashlee is a volunteer and Vice President of Nazareth Center for the Arts.

 

KEY DATES

● Deadline for submissions is April 13, 2025.
○ You will be notified by end of day April 15th of your participation.
● DROP-OFF accepted artwork at the NCA gallery on Tuesday, April 29th between 5PM -
8PM.
● Opening Reception
○ Friday, May 2nd. 6:00PM - 8:00PM
○ Open House style reception with light refreshments.
● PICK-UP: May 31st 3-6pm

 

RULES OF EXHIBIT

Artwork must be the artist’s original design. Your entry acknowledges permission to have your
work photographed or videoed for promotional use. All accepted work must remain for the
duration of the show.

 

LIABILITY

ARTWORK FOR SALE SHOULD BE INDICATED ON FORM ATTACHED TO BACK OF THE ARTWORK
All reasonable care will be taken of all work. NCA is covered by Erie Insurance in the event that

unforeseen damage occurs. We would prefer work be for sale. A 30% commission will be taken by the
Nazareth Center for the Arts on all sales. Your entry into this exhibit constitutes agreement with these
terms and conditions.
